request filled: Watership Down

original request by [info]gothic_hamlet:
Fandom: Watership Down
Prompt: BIGWIG. Alternate universe. Uh, Fiver must be in there somewhere too because I love him.
Fic Type: Crack. It is seriously impossible IMO to write AU Watership Down that is NOT crack, as we all know. Feel free to make it slashy crack or, uh, intellectual crack or mindnumbing crack. Bonus points for involving pirates or the BND. Super bonus points for mentioning Woundwort and/or Kehaar.

request filled by [info]daisy_chan:
Title: Magic Bunny Rayearth
Fandom: Watership Down
characters: Hazel, Bigwig, Fiver, Woundwort, Pipkin, Blackberry, Kehaar

Disclaimer: I don't own any these characters and situations. This is a fanwork that makes me no money.

Magic Bunny Rayearth

Hazel, had always been told that he was a natural leader. However, being class representative and captain of the kendo team were nothing compared to the hardships they had endured since being swept off to this world.

He clutched the hilt of his sword tighter as he recalled the numerous schemes attempted by Lord Woundwort. How Hazel and his comrades, Bigwig and Fiver, had fought and triumphed over all of them, made the boy’s pride swell. He had sworn to Master Mage Blackberry that they’d recover the Pillar, Prince Pipkin, thus stop this world from destroying itself, and Hazel was resolved to do so.

Kehaar was circling in the sky nearby, letting out a characteristically annoyed “PUU PUUU yar!” Allowing the others to catch up, Hazel stopped running and poised his right leg on a log at the outskirts of the forest they had just made their way through. He looked across the valley, only able to guess which direction would lead they toward Efrafa, praying to Frith, Rayearth, and any other deity listening that the strange bird with the large red stone marring his beak wouldn’t lead them into a distraction again.

Bigwig soon joined him on the edge of the hill, and Hazel smiled when his friend lent dramatically into him, complaining loudly about stupid birds, running in circles, and silly mages who clearly had their staffs in their arses.

“And why is this skirt so bloody short? I feel like I’m flashing my bits to the whole of Watership Down whenever we break into a sprint,” Bigwig growled. Hazel, who had decided that this too was part of the heroic suffering they had to endure, merely shrugged.

“The wind speaks to me.” Fiver approached, looking even more dazed than usually and pointed toward the east. “She says to follow the steam of life and the meet the sun as it rises from its sleep.”

Bigwig nodded, in a knowing way, as if he actually understood the message and wasn’t just going to head in the direction that the smallest boy had pointed and only stopping when one of Fiver’s constant warnings was shrieked his way.

Hazel smiled at his comrades and ran his fingers along the elaborately decorated sword hilt again. He knew they would complete their mission and finally be allowed home. Their inner strength, cunning, and will ensured their success. And with Rayearth watching over them, Hazel could feel nothing but confidence that he would lead them to victory.
